10.15.09 NYC Support/Sit-In For Medicare For All

October 12, 2009

Please forward widely…

We have reached an important point in the movement for meaningful health care reform.  People are ready to put their bodies on the line to say loud and clear single-payer Medicare for All now!

After the successful sit-in on September 29th at Aetna’s offices organized by the Private Health Insurance Must Go! Coalition and the recent launch of the Mobilization for Health Care for All, a day of action is scheduled for Thursday, October 15th.  Activists are organizing another sit-in in New York City.

If you are willing to risk arrest in a nonviolent act of civil disobedience, please contact Omar Kutty at

If you are willing to support the action in a legal rally, please make every effort to join us at United Health Group at One Penn Plaza in Manhattan on Thursday, October 15th at 10am.

If you have a personal story of being harmed by United Health by denials or other, please email or call 1-800-453-1305.

Onward to single-payer!

Assistant National Coordinator

I’ve recently uploaded two rare interviews with the Wobblie, anarchist, and activist Dorothy Day.

Day had begun her service to the poor in New York City during the Depression with Peter Maurin, and it continued until her death in 1980. Their dedication to administering to the homeless, elderly, and disenfranchised continues in many parts of the world.

Please post or announce the availability of these videos for those who may be interested in hearing this remarkable humanist.

    Thank you
